How is Eloise’s characterization better in this book than in her own book？！ Honestly that’s all I could think about while reading this （well almost， I have to say I loved Francesca and Michael way more than I thought I would！）。

I really loved this one （viscount who loved me is still my favourite， I’m a sucker for enemies to lovers） but this one was so good too。 Not only the most steamy Bridgerton book yet， but it also deals with tragedy in a great way。 Very much enjoyed。

Tragedy， compounded because why not？， many pages of emotional self flagellation， then a bunch of sex that seemed really mentally unhealthy， and suddenly the characters decided they could have a happily ever after。 When He Was Wicked is not the worst of the series but it’s not very good either。 I am rounding up to three stars because the characters were marginally likable and grief was handled realistically， but come on， ‘I shouldn’t want you’ isn’t enough of a plot for 350+ pages。

Ok， so this will be my last Bridgerton book because I just can't with her anymore。 （I'm still missing Gregory and Haycinth。）With this part of the series， the problem is: it starts great。 And then an intriguing beginning peters out into 200 pages of NO PLOT。 Honestly， NOTHING takes place in this book between the prologue and epilogue， apart from sex and both protagonists thinking about the other and if there's love or not。 I like romance， but can't stand that kind of lazy writing and editing anym Ok， so this will be my last Bridgerton book because I just can't with her anymore。 （I'm still missing Gregory and Haycinth。）With this part of the series， the problem is: it starts great。 And then an intriguing beginning peters out into 200 pages of NO PLOT。 Honestly， NOTHING takes place in this book between the prologue and epilogue， apart from sex and both protagonists thinking about the other and if there's love or not。 I like romance， but can't stand that kind of lazy writing and editing anymore。 This was an absolute slog。 。。。more
